What materials are the screws made of?

2022-04-24
At present, the fasteners on the market mainly include ordinary screws, machine screws, self-tapping screws and expansion screws.
First, carbon steel
Screw manufacturers distinguish high-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel and its carbon steel by the composition of carbon in carbon steel.
1. High carbon steel C%≤0.25% is usually called A3 steel in China. Overseas basically call it 1008, 1015, 1018, 1022 and so on. Applicable to 4.8-grade bolts, 4-grade nuts, small screws and other products without strength requirements; (Note: 1022 material is mainly used for drill tail screws)
2. Medium carbon steel 0.25%;
3. Medium carbon steel C%>0.45%. There is basically no application in the market at this stage;
4. Carbon steel: Add aluminum alloy elements to 16 manganese steel to improve some unique properties of the material: such as 35, 40 chromium molybdenum, SCM435, 10B38.
Second, stainless steel plate
Performance level: 45, 50, 60, 70, 80;
1. Mainly divided into austenite (18%Cr, 8%Ni) with good temperature resistance, good corrosion resistance and good forgeability. A1, A2, A4;
2. Austenite and 13%Cr have weak corrosion resistance, high compressive strength and good wear resistance. C1, C2, C4 ferritic stainless steels. 18%Cr has good upsetting and forging properties, and its corrosion resistance is stronger than that of austenite. The imported materials in the market are mainly Japanese products. According to the grade, it is mainly divided into SUS302, SUS304 and SUS316.
Third, copper
Common materials are copper, zinc alloy copper. The market mainly uses H62, H65, H68 copper as standard parts.

The above is the screw material knowledge introduced by the screw manufacturer. Through the above explanation, everyone has a certain understanding of this content, and I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
